Quick Note would be perfect for building up your own wishlist or “up next” queue in the Notes app, but, sadly, no ‘Add Link’ button is displayed when you open Quick Note from those apps. You can’t save links to albums from Apple Music, for instance, nor can you save apps and games from the App Store. #Ios 15 quick notes tv#With the only exception being the TV app, none of Apple’s media apps support Quick Note. Quick Note is great, but when it doesn’t work in a place you’d expect it to, it stings even more.Īllow me to raise a few very specific complaints about Quick Note here. The same Quick Note can contain as many Safari deeplinks as you want. You can hide the window in a corner and, when you don’t need it anymore, click ‘Done’ to close it. You can resize the floating Notes window with a pinch gesture and fling it across the screen until you’ve found a size and position that works for you. The Quick Note window doesn’t just look like Picture in Picture for Notes: it behaves like Picture in Picture too. I’ve been doing this with a ‘Scratchpad’ note where I drop in random bits of text and links on a daily basis: the note is pinned in the Quick Notes folder, so when I invoke Quick Note, it’s always the first one that comes up. If you want to always see specific notes first when opening Quick Note, you can pin them to the top of the Quick Notes folder, just like you’d do in any other folder of the Notes app. You can navigate your quick notes by swiping across the window, and you can create a new one within the window by pressing the compose button. You can tell you have multiple notes available in the window by the page indicators at the bottom of it. Only notes stored in the new Quick Notes folder appear in the floating Quick Note window. The activation method is what’s different the editor is the same one you already use in the Notes app, and you can do all the things you do with regular notes when you open a quick note. It’s important to remember this aspect of Quick Note: notes created via this feature are regular notes that support iCloud sync, sharing, and all the formatting options and keyboard shortcuts you already use in the Notes app. Once the Quick Note window is shown, you can type, draw, and drop things in it, such as links, documents, and images.
